Booking Requirements - Cancellation Fees
A $100.00 per person deposit is required with all reservations. Deposits will be credited to accounts on the arrival date. The deposit minus $50.00 cancellation fee shall be refundable provided that notice of cancellation has been received by the resort 10 days prior to the arrival date. Full deposit loss 10 days to 2 days prior. Full 1st nights charge with less than 48 hrs notice.
No credit will be given nor issued for late arrivals..
A Lunch Credit will be issued for missed arrival date supper if notified one week in advance.
Front Desk office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Cell phone coverage is available in our area.
Please Note: Cell Phones are not permitted in the Dining Room, Patios, or Pool Area.
Breakfast: 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. No reservations required
Lunch: 12:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. A La Carte.
Snacks are available for purchase all day.

Cleaning will occur between 9 a.m. and mid-afternoon. The cleaning card MUST be displayed on your outside door handle or in the plastic holder for housekeeping. Please use the Do Not Disturb sign when appropriate.
Underneath the dining room there is a recreation room open Sunday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday to 11 p.m.
Solarium hours with sauna and fitness room are from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Access from 6 a.m. with your room keycard.
Coin operated laundry is available by the tennis courts or laundry services are available for a fee. Inquire at Front Desk.
Business Services are available - faxing, internet service, courier services and mail service. Inquire at Front Desk.
Please no disturbing music around the lake front or from your private deck. Keep rooms quiet after 12 midnight.
All rooms are non-smoking. There are ashtrays provided for smokers located on the balcony or patio. There will be a $200 surcharge applied, if you are smoking in your accommodation.
Damages to rooms and facilities are the guest's responsibility!
Please respect homeowners and cottages on the lake and on resort property their privacy. Do Not Trespass.
COUPLES RESORT 100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEE
In the rare 1 in 1000 chance (odds from this years' experience or any past year's experience over a few decades here at the Resort ) you arrive at our Couples Resort and you find that on that Arrival Day by 9:30 PM or Sooner, you are dissatisfied with what we offer and how we accommodate, you will have our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee and will receive your deposit back, and you will not be charged for that night, as you Leave our Resort that Arrival Day/Evening.
There is one condition though: If you are here, One of you must Not be drinking alcohol anytime during this Intro period, after all one of you has to drive. Within 60 - 90 minutes of this Resort, in the area of Huntsville, there are over 5,000 rooms to choose from for you to stay instead.
In perspective; everyone is different, many guests tell us we represent ourselves so poorly compared to how gorgeous a place we have and a few once here have also bought a home here in the Village and oppositely a few think that this Couples Resort is terrible, and this is so amazing to me that people have such extreme contradictory words on the same resort. Oh to be a resort person who caters to people, it is interesting for sure. There are 6 known reasons why to dislike us 1) We are too small (46 couples when full) with no exciting night life and live entertainment (in Northern Ontario there is only one place to recommend and that is infamous Deerhurst Resort, (over 500 people can stay there so they have the critical mass of people to always have something going on) Home of the G8/G20, ready for conventions, meetings, parties and you. In Central Ontario there are Casino Rama and Blue Mountain Resort that would also provide a lot of evening entertainment 2) We are not remote enough or in the wilderness enough (as far as I know there is no place in Ontario that caters to only couples that can provide this requirement except us. One just has to make sure you book into our Rustic Utopian Chalet Cottages which are tucked at the far edge of the Resort, among the trees on the lake overlooking Algonquin Park. If you want a family resort than I recommend Bartlett Lodge or Arowhon Pines as Remote and in the Wilderness. 3) Food, but if we err our Team of Trained chefs can accommodate with a different type of meal. 4) Staff, one of our 60 staff may have a bad day, but we are trained not to have a bad day so it will be short lived and we apologize in advance. 5) Accommodations, many are themed - Exotics (tribal), Villas, Chateaus & Masters (Old European), Utopians (Country Urban) but we have some simple modern ones as well in our Jr Suites. 6) Personal - you may have a change in circumstance in your personal relationship or finances, we can't help directly but if you need to leave let us know.
From time to time other challenges may pop up between your stay and the Couples Resort and we will do our best to solve them in an expedient and considerate manner within the resources we have. We are quite good at solving problems and we have duplicates of almost anything that can break down. We have a team of 3 Maintenance men always on site or on call and we have 24 hour Service Suppliers of which some are close and some may take a couple of days to get to us if we are not first priority. In the end we will get the job done and get you happy again.
A 15% Service Charge will automatically be charged to guest accounts. Please observe a NO EXTRA TIPPING policy, as we wish that you would rather indulge in another Spa appointment, participate in one more sport activity, have another delicious bottle of wine or spoil oneself with extending the stay another night...any of these will help all of the Resorts working team, far more than an extra tipping. This Policy insures that we can provide better quality service throughout and also allows us to pay the 15% Service Charge collected as boosted salaries and bonuses to all our Team.
If you feel you really have to tip then we encourage you to fill out a Touch of Class Award form that you will find in your Accommodation and mention the Employee that deserves Extra Acknowledgement, or tell them on TripAdvisor as they love to read it.......This will affect them emotionally and financially.
The Resort has a format when setting rates that may be of interest.
- Prices are set low in the beginning.
- Closer to the arrival date one will notice rates will start to rise. This is based on less and less availability and more guests wanting to book last minute.
- The earlier you book, will guarantee the lowest rate for your accommodation package.
In the very rare chance that rates come down last minute in your Accommodation Category, one of two things will happen.
- Either you will be upgraded to an accommodation that reflects the price you are paying.
- Or your rate will be adjusted down to equal the new rates for that accommodation category.
- Either way it should be a nice surprise.
Sometimes we have holes to fill. That is, there is an Accommodation that is just available for one night and at these times we will reduce the rate of this 1 night accommodation stay in order to fill it up. Sort of a last minute deal, but only to those who will have a very short time with us (ie 5pm to 11am)
Please be advised that a $10 charge will be applied to all room service deliveries Excluding Breakfast and Evening Dinner Room which is offered Free.
BASIC High Speed Internet and Free North American Calling FREE of charge in all rooms.
APPLE PRODUCTS Make sure to turn off your AUTO Load.
(Internet is limited - $20 charge per stay for unlimited access)
POWER OUTAGE POLICY
Power Outage Policy was introduced due to outage in winter 2009, the first time in 42 years that the resort had to shut down due to a power outage. Currently in a Power Outage we can Provide the Following Services:
1) Wood burning fireplace in all Accommodations; for Romance ( Possibly # 1 Reason Guests stay with us)
2) Fully operational Kitchen; Gourmet Dining (Possible also the #1 Reason Guests stay with us)
3) Cold running water in all Accommodations
4) Hot and Cold Showers in the Gym/Sauna Facilities
5) Recreation Room with Big TV for the Vital Game (Much lower on the list of reasons to stay with us...but May be critical)
6) Office has access to the outside world with Phone and Data Line services
5) We Apologize that all the Toys in your Accommodation, and the Pool/Hot Tub will Not be operational
- We will try to update the home page of our website to tell when we are up again.
- If there is a power outage we will try to notify guests. If we are successful the deposit will be refunded if desired.
- If guests arrive or if a power outage happens while guests are here, we will offer:
- If power goes out for two hours between 4pm and 11pm: 10% off
- If power goes out for three hours between 8pm and 11pm: 20% off
- If power goes out for four hours between 7pm and 11pm: 30% off
- If power goes out for five hours between 6pm and 11pm: 35% off and one free night stay in the future, similar accommodation
- Power outages after 11pm through to 4pm will have no discount attached.
Revisions to This Policy
The Couples Resort reserves the right to revise, amend, or modify this policy, our Internet Service Agreement and our other policies and agreements at any time and in any manner. Notice of any revision, amendment, or modification will be posted in accordance with the Internet Service Agreement.
